Please tell us about the reasons for the company's founding.
A

In 1939, we took over some of the motor businesses of Tokyo Shibaura Electric Co., Ltd. (current Toshiba Corporation), and established Shibaura Engineering Works. In 1991 we merged with vacuum pump manufacturer Tokuda Seisakusho Co., Ltd. In 1998, we merged with Toshiba Mechatronics Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, and changed the company name to Shibaura Mechatronics Corporation.
